Invitation to participate in the Outward Selling Mission to the United Arab Emirates and Islamic Republic of Iran

The Department of Trade and Industry (the dti) invites interested parties to participate in the Outward Selling Mission (OSM) to UAE and Iran scheduled to take place from 14 to 18 May 2017. This mission aims to facilitate access for South African value-added products and services into UAE and Iran. Planned activities include a trade and investment seminar, business-to-business meetings and site visits to companies in UAE and Iran.

The target sectors for this mission include:

  • Agriculture: Agro-processing, food industry, agribusiness;
  • Infrastructure: roads and rail, bridges, ports, built environment professionals;
  • Energy;
  • Water treatment and desalination;
  • Petrochemicals;
  • Mineral beneficiation;
  • Services; and
  • Advanced manufacturing

Companies will be screened and selected in line with EMIA guidelines and market requirements, which are explained in the EMIA guidelines document. the dti will provide the following for the approved companies:

  • Accommodation (bed and breakfast only);
  • An economy class return airfare to a maximum of R17,000;

Companies applying for EMIA funding for this mission need to complete and submit the EMIA application form as well as the supporting documentation as listed in the EMIA application forms and guideline documents to:
