Project Overview

The structural system consists of a lower-level area constructed on grade, enclosed by a perimeter retaining wall. The ground floor slab is supported by concrete columns, forming the base for the steel superstructure. From this slab, a steel framework rises, incorporating a mezzanine level that is also supported by steel columns. The roof structure is composed of simply supported steel beams spanning between the columns. There are two external roof column per gridline that extend down to a separate base.

Project Details
Due to the nonstandard nature of many connections, the fabrication process was complex and the erection phase proved time-consuming. However, close collaboration between the project team and the steel contractor ensured that issues during erection were minimal.
Managing programme and time were the most critical aspects of this project. Specific design considerations were required to ensure the erection process was the most time efficient.
