The Southern African Institute of Steel Construction (SAISC) has been serving the Southern African Steel Industry since 1956. While our members come from different disciplines, company sizes and streams within the industry, they all have the desire to see the industry grow and thrive. We are honoured to work alongside them to support and promote a sustainable steel construction industry, and we invite you to join us on this journey.
Individual Member
All Individual Member benefits are only applicable to the registered member, and not transferable to another individual or to be used by company.
Professional Individual
- The applicant has a sound foundation, in terms of education, training and experience, on site and in the design office
- Professional registration with ECSA/other statutory councils for at least seven years
- At least five years of work experience specifically related to steelwork
Associate Individual
- For any person who does not qualify for Professional Membership, but wants to be associated with the SAISC
Associate Corporate Member
Benefits enjoyed by Company Members are applicable to a limited number of individuals employed at a member company, based on the membership category and fee.
For companies associated with steel construction, but not doing fabrication or erection
- Converters of steel/manufacturers of steel products
- Steel merchants and service centres
- Consulting engineers, detailers and project managers

Steelwork Contractor Member
Benefits enjoyed by Company Members are applicable to a limited number of individuals employed at a member company, based on the membership category and fee.
